- Paul Derham is Managing Partner of one of Australia’s leading financial services law firms, and provides legal and compliance services to global and local financial services businesses. Clients include some of the world’s (and Australia’s) largest crypto asset groups, derivatives brokers, fund managers and payments providers. He chairs the Board for Australia’s leading digital asset industry body – the Digital Economy Council of Australia, and works closely with members of Parliament, Treasury, Regulators and other industry bodies, with a focus on raising standards and delivering fit-for-purpose regulation. He is also one of the drafters of the Commonwealth Secretariat’s Model Law on Virtual Assets, which has been implemented in more than 30 countries, worldwide. The drafting team also recently completed the Model Law on Stablecoins which was recently ratified by the Commonwealth Secretariat. Paul lives by the beach and enjoys surfing with his wife and three daughters.
